Mixed Media Painting: Exploring Materials and Techniques

Nov. 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd

This 4 week class will be an exploration in mediums and techniques to create unique and layered artwork. Mixed media provides us with the opportunity to utilize found materials, combine multiple mediums, and experiment with application to aide in the process and completion of an idea. Classes will feature instructor demonstrations,  individualized instruction and group critique. 

Mediums explored: acrylic paint, ink, charcoal, pastel crayons, paper, gel gloss mediums and more.
Techniques taught: several acrylic paint applications and techniques, collage, image transfers, fixing layers, different ways to use gel mediums, gelli plate printing and image transfers, creating stencils for paint application, and more.
