The Clay School can host ages 8+ for birthday parties and private events. We are limited to 10 participants in our workshops. For children’s parties, adults/caretakers are expected to be present to supervise (and does not count towards the 10 participants).

A private event group has our Annex Studio space for 2 hours, which is designed to complete the project. So taking time away for eating cake isn’t necessarily encouraged. Messy hands aren’t conducive for snacking either. There is a community space around the corner from our studio in the building that has tables and chairs, so groups are welcome to eat food and drinks there! That space has a sink, microwave and vending machines as well. Participants should plan to wear clothes and shoes that they don’t mind getting messy.

Our projects for children’s parties/events utilize hand-building techniques. (Wheel-throwing for large groups for parties is not something we can host at this time.) Each participant will complete a food/water safe piece(s) that will be finished by our staff. Project completion process: Pieces completed by participants will take one week to dry. They will then undergo a bisque firing, which takes two days. A Clay School staff member will glaze all the pieces and put them in a final glaze firing, which takes another two days. The party/event organizer should plan to pickup all the pieces approximately 3 weeks later. Clay School admin will communicate when projects are completed and ready for pick up.
